SOP for Contracts/Outsourced Jobs

SOP for CONTRACTUAL /OUTSOURCED JOBS

In a hospital usually Security Services, Cafeteria and House Keeping services are outsourced to a third party .Following are some of the points worth notice which is required to be takne into consideration while outsourcing the servicesin HIHT were reviewed and following major lapses were found which in long run might be damaging to our organization.

1. It is the primary responsibility of the pricipal employer to register ourselves under Contract Labour Registration Act in order to have contractors and contract employees.

2. It should be ensured by the principal employer that the contractor also should have a registration number from labour office.

3. We should also ensure that the contractor should have a P.F Code number and E.S.I Number.

4. It is our responsibility to make sure that the contractor is paying the same amount as that of what we are paying to the contractor (excluding the 15% service charges, P.F & E.S.I of the employers share). To ensure this, the contractor should submit the signed salary vouchers of the contract labourers to the principal employer. It is necessary that we satisfy the rules of Minimum Wages Act as per norms.

5. The copy of the P.F Deposit challan should also be retained to make sure that the P.F is deposited for the employees.

6. The principal employer should also make sure that the contract labourers are working only 48 hours a week with a paid day off every week.

It is suggested that some move may be made to safeguard the interest of our organization.
